Character NAME: Luminada/Luminatha Morningpath
Character PULL-POINT: Heading toward a meeting with the Mountain Lord.
Character AGE: 110 by human years; by blood elven reckoning, that means she just hit adulthood, so...roughly 18-20.
Character ABILITIES: As a hunter, Luminada is close to nature, with a keen knowledge of how to track and befriend various animals. She knows which foods animals can or can't eat, how to heal their injuries, and how to call allied beasts to her side in battle - no matter how far away she is from them. She is quick on her feet, and strong too; it takes a lot to tire her out, and even then, she's able to feign death so convincingly that attacking enemies are fooled well.
She has a strong affinity for ranged weapons such as bows and guns, and is able to use them to capacities that seem almost supernatural. She can infuse the bullets (or arrows) with arcane or natural power to damage her foes, she can temporarily concuss an enemy with a single hit, she can poison an enemy so that any healing on them doesn't work so well. She can silence a foe and prevent their spellcasting - all with her bullets.
She is also proficient in setting traps, specifically traps that freeze or explode on any foe who walks into them.
As a blood elf or sin'dorei, Luminada is strongly dependent on the powers of the Sunwell to sustain her. She doesn't have a developed ability to use magic (in fact it has gotten worse over the years,) so it isn't as bad as it would be for, say, an archmage. To some degree, she's able to substitute for it by attuning to natural energies - but the past addiction is still there, and she does have to meditate for about an hour each morning to deal with it properly. An alternative method is to let out an arcane torrent that briefly silences nearby enemies and restores her own strength. She's not fond of the alternative method...unless she's going up against a spellcaster who needs to be able to speak in order to cast spells.
On a more intellectual front, Luminada is an amateur historian and engineer. She can dig up and piece together artifacts without damaging them, and she can craft equipment that can be superior to what's on the market. She is also a very deft hand at creating some very excellent explosives.
Character HISTORY: Luminada was a daughter of nobility, once, and lived in Silvermoon before its fall - once. Her family was none too notable, mind you; the Morningpath family was only a minor lordship, with unremarkable mages - but mages nonetheless. Her father, Lord Morningpath, loved to speak at length about how they were once so much better than this; her mother, Lady Morningpath, doted on her children...especially if they showed promise in the magical arts, or some other great ability. Luminatha, as she was called then, was...painfully average at the magical arts. Conversely, she developed a kinship with the local animals that her siblings did not. This actually proved most useful, as she was able to keep the animals away from the magic practicing grounds, and thus preventing any...incidents. It never ends well when a predator gets magic-touched, y'know - and for that reason alone, Luminatha's growing closeness with nature was tolerated by her family. After all, it was useful.
Still, it isn't like she was unhappy. She had many friends among the low-nobility echelons of society, and even had something along the lines of a teenager's crush on a higher-ranking noble lady she met during a party; when she learned her feelings were returned, it seemed that nothing in the world could bring her down.
"...but everything changed when the Undead Scourge attacked," to take a page out of the A:TLA opening narration. The destruction of the Sunwell left a teenaged Luminatha reeling in a pain that went beyond merely physical, and the deaths of all her family devastated her emotionally. She could have endured all of that, she thought, if the one she loved were there. If the one she loved were there and had asked her to, she thought she could even have refused the call that lead to the birth of the sin'dorei -
This was not to be, for her beloved had been killed, her body lying in the ruined city and eventually buried on the western side. Sick from both her losses and from the encroaching Sunwell withdrawal, Luminatha followed the sin'dorei quietly, a shadow among shadows, never bothering to claim her status. After all, what was the point? Her home was gone, her family was gone, her pain was the only thing that kept her going. They would reclaim their home, they would try again, those were the prince's promises and she believed them. It would never bring back the dead, but to live for what they lived for...wasn't that enough?
When she and her kin returned to Quel'Thelas after the Alliance's betrayal, she, still traumatized and far from combat-ready, remained behind while the prince and the strongest of the elves went to the Outland. She lived as a civilian for some time, watching as Silvermoon was rebuilt from the ground up - and as the unsavory parts of her civilization came to light. The stratification, the inequality, the existence of Murder Row...the fact that magic was still glorified so strongly, despite what she saw as its failure.
After all, had it been as mighty as the city rulers boasted, surely her family and her beloved would still be alive. That's how she saw it, and growing up with these tragedies, surely her opinion was valid - not that she ever voiced it. She was, after all, not a fool.
Slowly but surely, Luminatha withdrew from society, quietly studying the ways of the hunter and returning to her old closeness with nature. She abandoned her old name, calling herself "Luminada" instead and refusing a surname. After all, none of her kin were left.
Eventually, she adopted a young dragonhawk that she found separated from its relatives. Still, she stayed a recluse, eventually moving to Sunstrider Isle to further distance herself from the world. There, away from everything, she found some measure of peace, even if it did lead her to become ever more distanced from the current state of the world.
...Then the Sunwell was restored.
This was basically the loudest, most effective wake up call in the world as far as Luminada was concerned, and she eventually traveled back to the mainland. After a brief stay in Silvermoon (which, to her displeasure, had in no way changed its ways,) she left to find out what had happened in the world, for the Sunwell to be restored.
Evidently, what had happened was a hell of a lot. By the time Luminada managed to get to the mainland and then out of Silvermoon, the Cataclysm had occurred. Her own pain, after all these years of solitude, after all that she now learned had happened, seemed...no longer worth the distance. Yes, the world would turn without her (and it certainly had) but she didn't want to observe or seclude herself anymore. As a sin'dorei - as one reliant on the Sunwell - she felt ashamed that she had not been there to aid in its resurrection, and she swore she would never not be there again.
Her decisive moment came in the Badlands when she became tangled with the red dragon Rheastrasza and witnessed her ultimately fatal actions in the name of saving the black dragons from total corruption. She was shaken and broken by loss all over again - but this time, rather than choose to seclude herself...she chose to keep going, to follow where the Horde's commands brought her, to do what needed to be done and to never run away again.
After all, nobody she'd loved and lost would have really wanted that of her.
Character PERSONALITY: Luminada is, to sum it up, a very traumatized young lady. The deaths of her family and her beloved have caused her to become very distanced from the world, and to some degree, she still holds herself aloof emotionally. She doesn't speak to others much unless she needs to, and while she doesn't actively avoid others or discourage friendships, she also doesn't go out of the way to make friends. To some degree, though she will never admit it, she fears losing her loved ones again, and she copes by not developing those relationships. If she doesn't care, she won't mourn, that's how she sees it. Of course, she's learned all too harshly that it isn't that simple; she and Rheastrasza were allies of convenience and nothing more, and yet she still admired her for her strength and mourned her when she died.
That admiration and mourning left a strong impression on Lumi, and she has since become more determined to do what needs to be done, to do the right thing at all costs. The fact that a dragon, a much greater and more powerful creature, was able to knowingly walk to her own death and not run away...the thought shames Luminada deeply. It's also a stark contrast to the other deaths she's known; for someone who had only ever seen the murder of innocent people before, seeing Rhea willingly accept death has made her more thoughtful about the course of her own life. She hasn't started seeking out her own death, heavens no, but she has started to think along the lines of If I die and am reunited with my loved ones, what will they think of the life I've lead?
For someone who is essentially a young adult, she's awfully contemplative about this topic, and it drives her to keep going. Speaking of her being contemplative, Luminada is a very thoughtful young lady when it comes to history. She's taken up finding and researching artifacts of Azeroth's various cultures, learning more about how the world's changed over the centuries. She's also taken up mining and smelting ores, as well as engineering those ores into devices that include explosives and superior guns that she can use for her own purposes. These started off as simply 'things to pass the time between missions', but slowly she started to like these diversions, fascinated by uncovering the history of Azeroth and truly enjoying the feeling of looking at a device and knowing that she created it. In short, she's really starting to like this feeling of accomplishment, something she wasn't too accustomed to before.
She may never rise beyond being another bow and arrow in the Horde, but that's okay as far as she's concerned. As noted in her history, she's a bit cynical about ruling governments, and glad to be as far away from Silvermoon's as possible. The Horde itself...she doesn't quite know what to make of them, but that Garrosh guy doesn't quite seem to have his head on straight. She's careful enough to keep her opinions to herself, of course. Part of it is that while she doesn't trust rulers, she also knows that they do command power and pissing them off is unwise; the other part of it is that, well, she stays out of society a lot. It's pretty difficult to be overheard dissenting when you're not around other people, after all.
She is a lot closer to animals and nature than she is to people. She has taken in, to date, a wolf, a carrion bird, and a turtle as well as the dragonhawk hatchling who she has held dear for all of its life. To some degree, she finds them easier to understand than beings that talk and scheme. The animals don't judge her, and she can make sure they're fed and healthy. They don't scheme, they won't stab her in the back, they don't judge and she does her best to take care of them in return. Anyone who maltreats an animal will find it difficult if not impossible to befriend her.
If she can grow to trust someone as much as she trusts her pets, they will find her a fierce, perhaps slightly overprotective ally who will charge headlong to save them. Betray her and, well, once she recovers from the shock, she'll never forgive you. It's that simple.
As a side note, yes, Luminada prefers the ladies. The chance of this actually coming up in-game is pretty low, as she still carries a very strong torch for her dead beloved and the chances of her actually taking a romantic interest in another person are pretty damn low. She is a very private person as noted above, and so she probably won't bring it up unless it actually becomes necessary to do so.
» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON: Luminada's chosen weapon will be the mithril blunderbuss (read: gun) that she herself engineered. It will be firing energy bullets (thereby lessening the need for replacements,) and as time goes on it will become easier for her to fire these bullets, which means she can attack more quickly with it.
Chosen SKILLSET: Luminada is a fighter, but she can also make weapons or explosives or, hell, any other devices for combat. She just needs the materials in order to do so, and she's pretty good at gathering them herself...
Character INVENTORY: Lumi will be bringing in her armor, her blunderbuss, a bag full of engineering supplies and tools (god help us all,) a few healing potions, and a bag full of various meats for her dragonhawk. She also has a few of her explosives in there somewhere.

First PERSON:
[Luminada sighs, shaking her head a little as she activates the device.] There, there we are. It isn't as difficult as it looks to be - ah, connection made? Very well. [She clears her throat for a moment, staring at the screen with those eerie eyes of hers.]
...To be entirely honest, I was not intending to connect to the network. I had planned just to figure out how this device works. Still, there is no point in wasting an opportunity...er. Greetings, my name is Luminada.
[There's a long pause as she tries to figure out what to say next.]
I pray we all succeed in the tasks given to us here. As we are all on the same side here, it seems - should anyone require explosives, I will be glad to supply them. Conversely, I would like to know if there is anywhere in town conducive to mechanics work. It would be easier to create devices in such a place, after all.
I have nothing else to say at the moment, so...al diel shala.

Third PERSON:
It is like being shaken awake violently and learning you have overslept for too many hours. At first there was the usual quiet of the woods, with her dragonhawk taking part in a midday nap and only the birds and bugs and rustling of trees around them. She was about to follow her pet into slumber, gazing up at the ever-peaceful canopy of trees above them. There was, after all, no real reason to stay awake at the moment-
Then the sun bursts in waves somewhere behind her closed eyes, and she is on her feet in seconds, gazing around wildly like a caught animal. Her dragonhawk, her Sirene, wasn't linked to this energy as she was, but Sirene fluttered up as well, keening gently in concern. The hawk had every right to be in such a state - Luminada reeled in shock, staggering just as she had decades ago, when the Sunwell had been obliterated.
Now, now the reverse had happened, plain as the day above them. Somehow, that missing life-link had come back, revitalizing and re-energizing, and it was a moment before Luminada realized that she was weeping from it. This time, the tears weren't of a deepest sorrow, but of something else. Joy? Welcome? Confusion? All of those, she thought, her mind racing in a way it hadn't in a long time. She looked around, noting that suddenly the world seemed brighter, more certain, more...more, than it had been. It was as alive as it had been before the Sunwell's destruction - she was as alive as she had been before the Sunwell was destroyed. The malaise, the sleepiness that had plagued her for years was gone, erased as if it had never been.
Somehow, someway, a miracle had been wrought - the Sunwell lived again.
But how?
» ADDITIONAL NOTES
As well as the objects listed in her inventory, I would like to request that Luminada be able to bring her dragonhawk, Sirene, with her. At its current stage of growth, it is slightly taller than she is, and she could conceivably ride it, but
